U.S. Senate has proposed legislation to restrict bisphenol A (BPA) in all children's products. This act was based on US government study that showed bisphenol A could potentially pose health threats. The law aims at protecting children 7 years of age and younger but will mandate further studies of the health effects to all age groups and pregnant women. Any substance with a detectable level of BPA will be considered a banned hazardous substance.
