The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Hamilton Beach Brands Inc. together announced a voluntary recall of about 482,000 units of toasters manufactured in China due to fire hazard. The toasters could remain “on” after the toasts popping up, which could inflame items covering or in contact with the toasters, posing a fire hazard to users. Fortunately, no reports of injuries or fires were received. Customers were strongly advised to stop using the toasters and contact the company for replacement.
